Sheep of Love

"If you are going to Saaan Fraaancisco,
be sure to wear some flowers in your hair."

This is Lacey, the sheep that had the mistaken identity. She is doing so much better now. She has discovered the other little lambs are her friends and they frolic and play in the sunshine . They also follow me nicely every evening to their safe and snug sheep fold. I like being a shepherdess. Note too, that they are all sheared and ready for the summer heat. Eric the Bold watched many internet videos of amazingly fast Kiwis and Aussies and improved on his first attempt at shearing. His best time so far is 10 minutes-with no nicks and a perfect cape.
Here's an inspiring sheep shearing song.

  1. Awwww! Love the flowers in her hair there... too cute!

How is Sweet William doing? ;)

  2. She does look like a hippie. Good for Eric. We went to New Zealand and watched a sheep-shearer and it's not a job for the faint of heart. It's hard work, requires a lot of skill and you get a lot of sheep oil (lanolin) all over you. Good for Eric.

  3. Mrs Mom, Sweet William (AKA Billy Bob) is doing fine. He is still being the perfect gentleman. He is an ole Charlie in the making. Its the darndest thing. But we are glad.

And Dan... about that lanolin. Yea, we had no idea. I have a pile of lanolin clothes lying on the floor, not quite sure what to do with them!!

  4. Eric is something else! They all look great to me, but that's not saying much at all.

Glad Lacey is finding a little love and companionship.

  5. That Eric is an impressive guy. i remember sheep shearing from my 4-H days and it was not a lot of fun. And the sheep look good! Ours sometimes had more nicks than that. Good for him!

We love to hear what you have to say. Keep your comments coming! Thanks.
