Farewell to Woody
This is our friend Casey riding her horse Tono. She keeps her horses up here on the ranch and we love having her around. She is an amazing young woman with a big heart and she is always ready to lend a hand as well.
Her horses are real sweethearts too. Lately, her older horse Woody has been having lameness problems. She has taken him to the vet repeatedly and today it was decided that Woody would have to be laid to rest. The infection in his hoof just didn't respond to the treatment and had progressed up into the bones in his hoof and leg. Poor Woody. Poor Casey. Our hearts reach out to them.
Looking through my photos I came across this one of Woody. I snapped it just a couple of days ago while working in the barn. I thought the heavenly streams of light a fitting farewell.

I'm so sorry. Yeah, very inappropriate post on my part. Sorry. :( I cannot believe the timing of my bad humor with Woody. Forgive me??? Love
ReplyDeleteI really do love the picture of sunlight coming down on him. I'm sure she'll treasure that.
What a beautiful photo. It made me cry. I hope Casey is doing alright. She tried so hard to get him well. I hope she is not too discouraged. I'm glad that God is using you in her life right now to support her and minister to her hurting heart. Blessings <><
