Caroling with the Cows

When we lived a little closer to civilization we would have a hay ride caroling event each year driving down the streets of our small town. It was fun. Since moving here to the ranch I have missed this tradition, and was pondering places we could carol here. About that time a cow bellowed, (not really, but it is good for the story!) and I realized it might be a fun, new tradition to have a hay ride around a small part of the ranch, feeding and singing to the cows. Since I'm told cows don't start celebrating until close to Christmas, we are having our event on December 20th, beginning around 2 pm, although the hay ride probably won't start till closer to 3:30! We are on Humboldt time, ya know. We are also planning to have 'ole Charlie saddled up in case any kiddos would like a pony ride and we are planning some simple crafts and games too. All of these events will take place in our barn and if it is raining heavily the hay ride will be canceled and we will sing in the barn! If you live around here, consider yourself invited! Just bring some finger food, maybe a cookie or two and anything you might like to roast over a bonfire! If you need directions email us. Merry Christmas.

  1. That sounds like such fun. I wish we were closer. There is a legend that the animals sang to Jesus on the night he was born.

    Have a blessed time.
