What is Love?

Really let us know what you think.

Because love is a hard thing to describe.

Is it that warm fuzzy feeling you get when your eyes meet?
Is it waiting up late at night to be sure they get home ok?
Is it that connection that holds your thoughts?
Is it wanting more for them than for yourself?

Is it unconditional?

Is it eternal?

We hope so, we think so. We live our life banking that it is.

Today, by the way, is our anniversary. We got engaged at Christmas, 1980, and were wed 2 months later. Apparently, the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree because Eric and Johanna got engaged at Christmas and are getting married next Sunday. Today was taken.

Happy Valentine's Day

  2. Happy Valentines to you guys as well!

What is love? All that you said, and so much more... in our case, well, let's just say in our case we moved mountains for each other, and would again. I can not imagine life with out my Dear Husband.

If I say anything else it'll just get mushy ;)

Can't wait to see pix of the handsome groom and his blushing bride next Sunday!!

  3. 1 Corinthians 13 -- love in action.

You guys aren't old enough to be married 30 years. You must have been 10 when you got married.

    Congratulations.

  4. Happy Anniversary!

You know, if love was easy to define, the Romance book industry would crumble. I think it's different for everyone. For me, I knew I was head-over-heels for RockCrawlinChef when I realized that my heart was safe with him.

  9. I've been thinking about the question and here is my definition, hope it is not too long. A few years ago we were having dinner out and an elderly man came up to our table. He politely complimented my hair and asked me very sincerely how I styled it. I was so shocked I didn't know what to say. He proceeded to tell me that his beautiful wife of many years was now an invalid and he was responsible for all her care. He felt just terrible because though he took her to the salon once a week, on the other days he wasn't skilled in hair styling and she didn't look as lovely as she had when she did her hair for herself. He really wanted to hear any suggestions I had on blow drying and curling irons because he truly wanted her to look her best. I hope I gave him a coherent answer. Megan was sitting with us at the table and we have talked about that conversation more than once. THAT to me is a demonstration of true love.

  10. P.S. the hair definition is from Brenda - I'm sure Rick has an entirely different opinion!
