Home Town

Our home town is just wide place in the road. You can stand alongside and count the cars coming.... and going. There is a post office, a few tourist stores, a gas station/general store/hotel and a wonderful restaurant that happens to have the best ground beef from a local ranch. I bet you can guess which ranch, huh? So, if you ever find yourselves driving our World Famous Avenue of the Giants make sure to stop at the Avenue Cafe.

  1. That looks great - my kind of town and restaurant. We hope to make a driving trip to California in a couple of years and, if it works with you, stop and visit for a day or two. Perhaps we can try some of that good, local beef?

  2. The Avenue is the kind of place I'm always hoping I'll find (and rarely do) when I'm stopping for food on the road. Yum!

  5. I've been reading your blog for awhile. I guess I didn't really 'know' where you were located in California, I just knew it was beautiful there. My husband has always dreamed of visiting the giants and the time has come. Well kind of! We will be visiting sometime next fall and you'd better believe we will be stopping by Avenue Cafe!
