Quad Riding

This morning we checked on some cows on the quads. It was a beautiful morning with clear skys and various types of clouds. They were magical clouds, changing shape and texture in a blink of an eye. The sun was warm on the skin but the air had just enough chill to remind one that it is indeed fall. We loved it. I find that more and more we are using the quads over the horses. I feel a little sad, but have also found the quads to be quick and efficient and , so far, no drama....

Which would you pick- horses or quads?

  1. Quads anyday! Gas and go! They also don't leave a mess behind them to step in.(: How do I get the dogs riding place?
Beautiful Day the Lord Hath Made. I will rejoice and be glad in it!

  2. Horses are more fun to ride but quads are easier to take care of.

(I love how you captured the same sky as I did!)

  5. Day is going to come when you are out checking the herd on your Quad and it quits. Then you walk back to the house to get the pickup only to find our you left the keys with the Quad. Darned if the tire on the Tractor isn't flat. That leaves you with 2 choices, the Motorcycle or the Horse.

You question your sanity of towing the Quad with the Motorcycle and opt out for the Horse. The decision to use the Horse is called HORSE-SENSE.

When working Cattle it never hurts to use a little Horse-Sense.

From the back of a Horse you still can get all of the beautiful morning and various clouds...AND as a bonus you get to look over the Range and take a good look at the condition of the forage and forbage. But then again, I come form the old school of Cattle Ranch Ways.

So I'm going to pick the Horse as a proper method for Cow Looking, checking on the Cows, Cow Scouting or whatever you want to call it.
