The day I saw the bug eyed doe, I also spied a black bear, wild pigs, turkey and multitudes of quail. Then yesterday night while driving up our driveway we were astonished to realize the animal in front of our car was a mountain lion. It wasn't very big, so we are suspecting it was a year old or so. Amazing things around every bend and never a dull moment. Or almost never anyway.

OK, are we supposed to see a mountain lion in the picture? I enlarged the picture and I still couldn't see anything.

That's definitely crazy. I'm sure you don't see those that often there!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome. I love that you get to see all these critters, I think our wild ones are hiding out from us.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Dan. I can't find it unless it's in the clouds? Maybe someone is taking Mark's pain pills?

When I see big cats I dont say anything. Otherwise slimy people come looking to kill them.
ReplyDeleteWe love reading your blogs! It makes us feel like we're back home at the Ranch! even though it was home to us for only a short while. It is still a peaceful place! We love you all and miss you bunches!! XOXOXOXO Casey and Trinity
ReplyDeleteIt is just remarkable to see a mountain lion. I've heard that if and when you see one, that there are many many others that never show themselves. Of course, down here in the "urbanized" Sonoma Co. they turn up now and then in the outskirts of towns, even going so far as to kill dogs, etc. I've seen one, in my whole life. It was uncanny to see how similar it looked to our Tigger. Believe me, I would NOT like him to be 70-120+ lbs. That would be awful. And dangerous.
ReplyDeleteI use a Nikon D50 camera with a lens which I purchased last year (and am forgetting the name and power...I will get that to you). I have used Nikon since college photograph, and purchased this one, used, two years ago. The camera shop told me that it is "old," and told me not to spend any more money on it! It has been a fabulous camera, and with it I have been able to learn some about using digital. I am currently researching for my "next" camera, because of course, this one has been beat up since coming to live with me. The "D Series" gets high ratings.
