All is quiet on the home front this week. Mark has been busy making firewood each day while I get jobs done around the house that needed to be done. We have been relaxing by the falls in the late afternoon when the shadows grow long and the pools are at their warmest for the day. We have been sleeping in a tad too.
So often our life is surprisingly busy and chaotic. Run here, go there, fix that, feed those. We jump from one small 'fire' to another without a general plan or rhythm to our days. I hate it. I love schedules and order. I love doing things with pauses in between to enjoy. We are trying to make changes and learning to say 'no' to help achieve this. We are examining our life and hope to be more intentional. We do this periodically, of course, have good intentions, then eventually we realize our life is careening off the chosen path again. The nice thing is that most of the time in life you can just get back on it.
An unexamined life is not worth living. Socrates.
Great post and so true. Betty and I have a rhythm in our lives - some would call it a rut - but for us it's a rhythm. One we enjoy.

Thanks for sharing.

That's some darn tall trees in that photo!!! So glad you are getting a chance to enjoy the lifestyle you have chosen. We are constantly reminding our guests to do that - and when our busy season ends, we do that a lot. We have created a lifestyle we love and it's so worth the extra effort.
ReplyDeleteHappy lazy days,

Deep thoughts. Love 'em. I also love Dan's comment. And Dan. And you. And tall, gorgeous trees.
